Description: The Missionaries of the Poor in Cap-Haitien, Haiti has a 3-acre monastery where 16 Brothers with the support of volunteers provide free service to the poor. There are about 200 homeless residents, a majority of whom are elderly with various heart conditions. In addition, there are about 60 orphaned/abandoned children, many of whom are physically disabled. The Mission has a dispensary serving several patients from the neighborhood and across the city. They are planning to conduct outreach medical assistance to the slum neighborhood. The Mission also hopes to begin offering its services to the growing population of HIV/AIDS patients.
