Description:
"Independence" was a political catch word used by the then African Politicians of the 19th Century to gain access to power. But Globalization as it is today, helps us understand our inter-dependency in this World as a village and hence need support of each other. Volunteer service has greatly scored this inter-dependency and gives opportunity to interested and willing individual from any country in the Globe to offer these desperately needed services to communities with "gaps" in some other skills. Ayago Community Development Initiative acts as link between such communities in Uganda and willing volunteers the World over. You can not imagine that access to medical treatment is still considered a privilege in some of these communities! Quality Education is still "miles" away - a teacher teaches hundred (100) pupils in a classroom at the basic level while some classes end up un-attended in the secondary level.
The elderly who are senior citizens die of hunger due to food insecurity and some writhe in the cold for lack of housing! HIV/AIDS is still perceived as witchcraft and child abuse is the order of the day. Oooo! What can I say and what to leave?
Whether are you are a Medic, Educationist, Social Worker, Church Planter, Spiritual leader or Evangelist; or any other field of service, you are welcome to join hands with us and help improve the livelihoods of these folks. Be it a service for a week or two, a month or more, you shall leave a lasting impact in the lives of many. Through this, you will have opportunity to meet and interact with direct beneficiaries; and also realize greater value for your money and time spent. Welcome!
