Mission Statement:
Pamoja international voluntary services (P.I.V.S) is a non-profit, without any political or religious affiliation a registered non governmental organization reference, based in Nairobi Kenya. Our objective is to organize International work camp and, mid term volunteer program, where both local and international volunteers offer their services for free, in collaboration with community groups or institutions in need of voluntary labour or service to empower community self-help initiatives.
Our organization strives to support community own effort by actively participating in their development projects. Our mission is to co-ordinate socio-cultural interaction between people of diverse background by creating opportunities for both local and international volunteers to exchange their experience and skills.

Description:
Pamoja International Voluntary Services offers short and medium term programs for volunteers/interns. We are looking for medical/health volunteers who will co-ordinate offer medical services/advice/train the staff and the same time treating/ offering prescription diagnosis of diseases to patients.
If a qualified Nurse or Doctor depending on the field of specialty, you will be placed
in several or one department(s) at the hospital – clinical medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, emergency medicine and critical care, general surgery, E.N.T, ophthalmology and radiology. This will help you to understand real life exposure and integrating theoretical knowledge. Specific/general duties may be given by the supervising doctors and consultants to enable you draw and understanding of diverse aspects relating to care of patients such as relevant history taking in various body systems, physical examination, relevant laboratory investigations and their interpretation, arriving at pertinent diagnosis and appropriate treatment measures but this will depend on the experience and knowledge.
Work is 8 hours a day, weekends are free. Accommodation and meals is at a selected host family, transport from Nairobi to the location by public transport, Airport pick up is provided.
Orientation will be done at Pamoja Office to explain to the volunteer to inform about Kenya, work, location, what is expected of you or what you expect from the hospital and all payments including commitment and program fee will be paid in the offices during orientation.
Please we are looking for serious and motivated volunteers
This is an initiative to assist rural people who cannot access medical services either due to distance or the cost. Note also the hospital is not adequately equipped in terms of personnel and equipments.
